Canada

Home to a vast amount of stunning lakes, forests, mountains and more within their over 45 National Parks, Canada really is one of the best countries for offering up an immense amount of scenic experience for the lovers of the outdoors.

Take your other half and venture together around these gorgeous, natural spaces, and perhaps you’ll even spot a grizzly bear?!

The land of fire and ice is the most rugged and beautiful backdrop for an outdoorsy couple’s getaway!

With the grandest of waterfalls at every turn, black sand beaches, glaciers and thermal lagoons, you’ll never run out of places to explore, and then thermal pools of heaven to recover in afterwards.

Scotland

Highlands, lochs and Jamie Fraser (Outlander reference, IYKYK), what more do you need for your next couples adventure?!

The endless, changing scenery of the land of the Scots never fails to hit the spot with outdoorsy folks, with mountains, lochs, beaches and cities. You can finish off your adventuring with a dram of whisky.

Ireland

The green aisle. It’s easy to see how Ireland got its nickname when you spend any amount of time in this luscious, green country.

Steeped in history, with wonders a plenty (Giant’s Causeway anyone?), Ireland is sure to keep even the most easily displeased, outdoorsy person beaming with joy, with its rich, green miles and miles to explore.

Wales

Let’s go for the trifecta, and pop Wales on here too.

Our third UK destination is another that is perfect for the outdoorsy folks. With Snowdonia, endless amounts of scenic beaches, and a lot of more peaceful, outdoor spaces, it’s sure to be a hit for you and your beloved.

England

With the Peak District, the Lake District, the Jurassic Coast and more you’re sure to be spoiled for choice on a tour of good, old England.

There’s something for every outdoors loving person, or every lover of an outdoors loving person! (wink wink)

Croatia

Famed for being one of the filming locations for Game of Thrones, this country is far more than it’s famed city, Dubrovnik.

The country is full of rich, natural spaces, such as Plitvice Lakes and The Drava River.

New Zealand

With the vastly varied and ever changing landscapes, New Zealand does quite literally have something for everyone.

From glaciers and fords, to white, sandy beaches… You’re sure to find something that will keep both you and your partner happy!

USA

In a country that stretches so much of the globe, you can be sure to find every landscape possible.

There are National Parks a plenty, and you can choose from tropical climates or the freezing, cold Atlantic climate instead!

Perhaps a road trip to cover a multitude of options is the best idea? This is certainly somewhere you could go for a long holiday.

Japan

Whilst often famed for its capital city, Tokyo, the lesser discussed scenic Japan has an abundance of natural spaces to offer up.

There’s Mount Fuji, cherry blossoms, Autumn splendour to rival anywhere else in the world, Bamboo Forests, temples, rivers, lakes… There’s so much that Japan has to offer us in terms of adventure for outdoors lovers.

Cambodia

The temples of Angkor Wat, the Sihanoukville Beaches. The Ratanakiri outback…

Cambodia can offer something completely unique in the way of experience for a couples journey and adventure.

India

When you think of India, what do you picture?

Because actually, India is a country that also has vastly changing landscapes too, and you can even do a frozen river trek!

So there are just a few suggestions for your travel bucket list for couples! We could probably have gone on all day, because MOST countries offer insanely amazing outdoor experiences, even if it’s not what they are ‘famed’ for.

My challenge to you is to investigate yourself for a country not well known for their outdoor spaces. You may find a little piece of heaven! And make sure you’ve packed things to ensure your comfort while you’re on your active holiday!
